Danieli Universal Endless is the Danieli original and effective way to produce flat or long products in three rolling modes in the same line –endless, semi-endless, coil-to-coil.
The core of the MIDA-QLP lines for Quality Long Products are the Danieli-patented OctoCaster and the mill layout.
MIDA-QLP consists of a high-speed, wide-section, single-strand OctoCaster featuring an octagon-shaped mould, capable to guarantee a continuous, stable endless casting-rolling operation with productivities up to 150+ tph per strand, meaning 1+ Mtpy with a single strand.
Generally part of Danieli minimills, with scrap/DRI melted by the Danieli Digimelter, MIDA-QLP casting-rolling lines can receive liquid steel also from the BF/BOF route.

MIDA-QLP steel mills produce straight and spooled bars, wirerod, and now even merchant and also SBQ products. They process raw materials in finished products in less than two hours –few minutes from refined liquid steel– operating without gas reheating furnaces which reflects on both CapEx and OpEx.

26 MIDA-QLP lines (25 MIDA QLP minimills) have been ordered since 2009, 13 of which are in operation and the others in construction or under commissioning.
Customers like CMC Steel, Nucor Steel and Egyptian Steel have renewed their confidence in Danieli MIDA-QLP technology by ordering four, three and two MIDA-QLP minimills, respectively.
