Danieli hydrogen burners answer the global challenge of progressive decarbonization from fossil fuels (natural gas, LPG and mixed gas) and reduction of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from gas reheating and heat-treating processes.

The Hydro series –consisting of Hydro RAD Radiant burners, Hydro MAB Multi-air (lateral) burners and Hydro TFB Treatment furnace (self-recuperative) burners– is conceived for use in different types of furnaces. It is able to operate with mixtures of natural gas and hydrogen up to 100%, offering total versatility.

Hydro RAD and Hydro MAB burners are mainly used in reheating furnaces for rolling and forging, whilst Hydro TFB burners are best suited for heat-treating of bars, wirerod, tubes, plates and cold-processed strip.

FAB lateral burners, unlike the others, are designed to operate indifferently with any natural gas-hydrogen mixtures. Used in reheating furnaces, they operate in flameless mode with low-pressure gas, achieving even lower NOx emission levels than Hydro MAB burners.

CO2 emissions are reduced to zero with full hydrogen combustion, and thanks to the flameless technology, NOx emissions are kept to the same very low level of natural gas combustion, combining high thermal-efficiency and very low emissions.

Also, Danieli has been supplying innovative solutions for optimized specific consumption and product quality, featuring scale-free and dry-plus furnace technology, suitable for hydrogen and electricity as well. Recently, ABS, Optimus Steel and De Acero have trusted Danieli with orders for such innovative systems.
