Basic-oxygen, electric-arc and ladle-furnace slag have different physical-chemical properties, and all of them can be transformed into industrial aggregates following specific processes based on different cooling methods, stabilization by carbonization and hydration of the fraction of unbound calcium-oxide. These are then followed by crushing, screening and deferrization to produce the desired grain size.

The consistent quality of the raw materials processed in the plant, and the production process monitoring leads to a product having excellent grain-size uniformity.

Ecogravel® industrial aggregate is an economical product obtained from a by-product, allowing its use in applications with demanding requirements, offering higher and more durable performances as compared to natural products.

Ecogravel® properties comply with UNI EN 12620 “Aggregates for concrete”, UNI EN 13043 “Aggregates for bituminous mixtures and surface treatments for roads, airfields and other trafficked areas”, and UNI EN 13242 “Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction”.

Also, Ecogravel® White is an excellent replacement for virgin lime filler in soil stabilization; it acts as a mineral addition, providing a remarkable contribution as a binder.

Depending on plant size and location, including the savings from non-disposal, the return of investment of an Ecogravel® plant is just 2-3 years.
