CEMTAS CELIK MAKINA – Bursa, Turkey – Applying New Technologies To Existing Plants

CEMTAS CELIK appointed Danieli Centro Combustion for the revamping of its existing 50 tph Walking Hearth Furnace back in November 2015.
The main drive for this investment is that it will increase heating quality and save on gas consumption to offer the following advantages:

• reduced maintenance
• reduced risks of equipment malfunction or failure
• lower operating costs
• improved combustion
• improved ambient cleanliness and lower stack emissions

The L1 and L2 automation system will also be modernized and simplified.

A relatively short period separates project development and site activities, including dismantling of the existing equipment, installation of the new equipment and start-up.
Production is expected to re-commence between May 2016 and June 2016.
Project design includes:

• Installation of the new automation control system (L1) composed of a new PLC and HMI for combustion and handling control, including installation of a Level 2 (L2) system.
• New field instrumentation for flow and temperature measurement and transmission in the combustion air and NG line. New field instrumentation for the handling system.
• Replacement of pre-heating and heating burners with new generation low environmental impact and high performance DCC patented burners.
• Supply of a new Pilot Burner line with related equipment and pilot burners for soaking areas.
• Replacement of soaking burners with new generation DCC patented flameless burners and implementation in the new automation control system of the PHL system for the soaking zone.
