Another Danieli bar precision-sizing unit “Drawer” in operation

Shandong Shouguang Juneng Special Steel is the first steelmaker in China to benefit from the quality and the flexibility of the Danieli Drawer technology in SBQ production.

Part of the 600,000-tpy special steel bar mill in Shouguang, the bar precision sizing unit is installed in line, right after the finishing stands.

The mill produces high-quality, 16-80 mm-dia bars such as alloy structural steels, bearing steels, spring steels, and more for industrial applications.

The Drawer is based on Danieli-patented, 4-roll technology and combines high-reduction and sizing of the bar with four roll modules in sequence, so the spread of the rolled product is “zero”.

The Danieli precision sizing unit imparts an advanced automation rolling process that can accurately control the deformation temperature and cooling rate, detecting the product size in real-time.

SBQ bars processed by the Drawer comply with 1/8 EN10060 standards.

Operating the Danieli Drawer, Juneng Special Steel is able to flexibly respond to small-batch production and frequent changes in specifications, in a very efficient way.

The next Danieli Drawer scheduled to be put into operation will be in Mexico.
