GSM Tanzania Ltd. selects Danieli Centro Combustion for reheating furnace at new long-product complex

GSM Tanzania Ltd. awarded a contract to Danieli Centro Combustion India for the supply of a new, 50-tph pusher-type reheating furnace for its upcoming bar and wirerod rolling mill complex at the Kilimanjaro Industrial Park in Tanzania.

This project represents a strategic investment aimed at strengthening GSM’s presence in the regional steel market while supporting the growing demand for construction and infrastructure products across East Africa.

The new reheating furnace will be designed with advanced technology, complying with the latest safety standards. Equipped with next-generation burners and a highly efficient combustion system, the furnace will provide optimized billet heating, enhanced thermal efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, and minimized scale formation and pollutant emissions.

The furnace will be integrated with advanced automation systems supplied by Danieli Automation systems, to ensure reliable operation, precise process control, improved product quality, and simplified maintenance.

The contract was formally signed during the visit of Danieli representatives to GSM Tanzania’s headquarters, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership between the two companies and establishing a solid foundation for future cooperation.

Commissioning of the new reheating furnace is scheduled by the end of 2027.
