The ID2000 series of optical sensor are designed to detect the presence of hot infrared emitting bodies. Typical applications are the material presence detection in hot wire rod, bar and section mills or in plate and hot strip mills.

The ID2000 series are a family of sensors designed specifically for the steel industry and are capable of being directly installed in harsh environmental conditions. Several solutions are available in terms of mechanical arrangements (e.g. fiberoptic sensing head options), temperature ranges and field of view geometries. Infrared radiations, emitted by hot metal body presence, are detected through the lens system by a IR sensitive photocell and then converted into an electric signal. Finally, the resulting signal is amplified and elaborated by a dedicated microprocessor The high quality and reliability inherent in Danieli Automation detectors gives our customers the benefit of a 3-year warrantee period. The ID2000 family includes several models to cover specific needs and process characteristics to give valid solutions to Customers. Depending on different models, a front protection with air purging, a cooled body protection and armoured connection cable are optional accessories. Moreover, these optical sensors are designed for steel industry but they can be applied in any situation where hot objects should be detected.
