PT Garuda Yamato Steel water-treatment plant modernization

PT Garuda Yamato Steel (GYS) selected Danieli to modernize the water-treatment plant serving its steel production facilities in Indonesia. The new system will operate as the main cooling infrastructure for the plant, supporting core production processes and ensuring reliable water management.

The new Danieli WTP has been engineered for installation in a brownfield environment, where space constraints and operational limitations require optimized solutions. The design will allow integration within the footprint of the existing plant while minimizing modifications to current infrastructure. By avoiding demolition and major civil works, the project will reduce both investment costs and implementation time.

The solution also maximizes the reuse of existing infrastructure, including structural supports for piping, electrical and cable-routing systems, and overhead cranes that will be used for future operation and maintenance activities. This approach allows efficient use of available assets while delivering a compact and efficient water-treatment solution.

The supply includes engineering, project management, mechanical equipment, automation systems, and customized design solutions compliant with international standards. The project is designed to ensure long-term reliability and stable plant operation.

Danieli also will provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from engineering and execution through commissioning and final acceptance of the system.

The modernization project reflects GYS’ focus on operational reliability, efficient resource management, and environmentally responsible production.
