Ezz Steel selects Danieli Automation for advanced MES digital platform

Danieli Automation has been selected to supply a new extended Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the Ezz Flat Steel plant in Ain Sokhna, Egypt.

The new web-based Q3-Manufacturing solution will support Ezz Steel’s digital transformation strategy by providing a fully integrated platform for production management, operational coordination, quality control, and advanced analytics.

The system will cover the entire production flow, including two meltshops, a Quality Strip Production (QSP) thin-slab caster and hot-strip mill, a billet caster, two bar and wire-rod mills, and a hot skin-pass mill.

The Q3-Manufacturing scope includes a comprehensive suite of advanced functions, such as order dressing, operational planning and detailed scheduling, meltshop pacing and real-time shop floor coordination, raw materials and finished-products yard management, quality management, inline and predictive quality control, as well as advanced analytics and reporting.

By combining real-time production data with integrated planning and analytics tools, Q3-Manufacturing will provide enhanced operational visibility, faster decision-making, and continuous performance optimization across the entire plant.

The new platform will contribute to improved production efficiency, optimized resource utilization, and strengthened quality assurance throughout the manufacturing process.

This project represents another important milestone in the long-standing collaboration between Danieli and Ezz Steel, further reinforcing the partnership and the shared commitment to innovation and digitalization in steel production.
