THE MAINTENANCE BEST PRACTICES
We strongly believe that maintenance starts from a systematic approach on method.
For that reason, we developed DANEASY. It is a new and essential package developed by Danieli Service with the intent of supporting our customer to optimize the maintenance performance.
The approach is a systematic method designed according to:
— ISO 55000: Asset management - Overview, principles and terminology;
— EFNMS: European Federation of National Maintenance Societies;
— UNI EN 15628: Qualification of Maintenance personnel;
— BS EN 15341: Maintenance Key Performance Indicators.
The main target of this approach is to boost the Maintenance Best Practices in the metal sector. It is a full-service package based on performance for which even the digital tools are designed to be very lean and effective for service rendered.
FLEXIBLE OPTIONS FOR YOUR MAINTENANCE’S PARTNER
The first step of the package is the assessment what we call DBA Danieli Benchmark Assessment; it is necessary to define the present status of a site.
The objective of the DBA phase is to build a Business Case for DS and a Value Proposition for the customer. Therefore, the assessment has to identify the potential improvement between the actual situation “As Is”, and the level that DS believes may be accomplished with DAN EASY. Based on the gap analysis, using benchmarks and DS’s expert knowledge about maintenance, production process and current market environment, the project team is able to:
— Identify existing plant performance and maintenance KPIs at the site.
— Define improvement potential for plant performance, energy efficiency, and maintenance cost.
KPIs are the core of the value proposition: the same ones will be analyzed “As Is” during the DMC stage and continuously monitored during the project execution for optimization purpose.
KPIs used are based on EN15341 and divided for the following main areas: productivity, reliability, efficiency, warehouse safety, and in general sustainability.
Based on KPIs, a Bonus/Malus incentive plan will be defined for DMM and DPS. KPIs should be agreed between the parties and reviewed on yearly basis.
Indicators may be defined by area, process, production line, machine and people. The range and target are fully customized on customer expectations, as well as the level at which DS believes these can be accomplished with the DANEASY approach.
The DBA scope:
— Organization & Methodology Assessment (according to ISO 55000 Asset Management). Detailed financial and plant performance analysis to understand overall plant performance, energy efficiency and cost-reduction trends and potentials
— Benchmark Analysis (according to BS EN 15341: Maintenance Key Performance Indicators). Determine potential improvement in maintenance practices and an impression of requirements to implement maintenance best practices at the site.
— Maintenance culture evaluation (according to UNI EN 15628: Qualification of Maintenance personnel). Personnel skills evaluation based on maintenance culture.
Once the level is defined, DS along with the customer could start along three different flexible paths based on tailored needs: DMC-Danieli Maintenance Consulting; DMM-Danieli Maintenance; Management; DPS-Danieli Performance Service.
